What I’ve been working on lately:
First I was asked to edit material for Bohemians of the Brush: Pumpkin Cottage Impressionists. This exhibition is about the painter James Nairn and his colleagues who went against the mainstream and developed an indigenous, Impressionist style of painting in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Curator, Jane Vial has done a wonderful job finding images, stories and, of course, paintings for the exhibition.
Then I offered to do the communications and marketing for this exhibition which started at Expressions Arts and Entertainment Centre in Upper Hutt on 1 May and tours nationwide until 2012. To date, the exhibition has had excellent coverage on Radio New Zealand’s Arts on Sunday, the Dominion Post, the Upper Hutt Leader, with more national coverage expected in the coming months. Look out for the exhibition when it comes to a centre near you. See www.expressions.org.nz for venues and dates.
